The basic premise of the Cleanse is that by creating the right conditions - removing the major toxins and adding in nutritionally beneficial foods and supplements - our body will begin to naturally heal itself.
Dr. Junger found that when attending medical school in the US he overloaded his system with toxic foods, drinks and thoughts. These toxins were the root cause of his body’s inability to maintain balance.
That led him to launch the Clean program and the New York Times best-selling book, Clean.
The cleanse is an anti-inflammatory diet that eliminates foods that could potentially be irritating to the body, such as acidic foods, and common allergens. Over the course of the cleanse, you will avoid specific foods and follow a schedule that allows your body the time needed to deeply cleanse the body of toxins.
There are 3 main steps to the Cleanse Program:
3 Days
The Pre-Cleanse is how you’ll ease your body into the full cleanse. Eat three solid meals a day from the Cleanse Diet, for three days, before you start your full cleanse.
21 Days
During the cleanse you’ll follow a simple 21-day routine: a Cleanse Shake for breakfast, a solid meal for lunch from the Cleanse Diet, a Cleanse Shake (or soup) for dinner, and your Cleanse Supplements throughout the day.
During this period, you will allow a 12-hour window between your evening and morning meals to achieve a deeper cleanse.
7 Days
The Reintroduction Process is the last stage of the Clean cleanse and is used to identify which foods work best for you and your body.
The Clean Program is an opportunity to better understand how food affects your overall wellness. You may experience changes in energy, sleep, mood, and weight. You will learn how to recognize emotional hunger and how to overcome it. You will learn methods to support total elimination, not just through diet, but through your body’s cells and tissues.
